How to get here?
The easiest way to get here is by your own car.
Near the museum, approximately 50 meters from the entrance there is a parking lot with about 20 parking spaces, a stony path leads to the entrance.
It is also possible to get here by public transport (bus). The open-air museum is located by the provincial road no. 957. There are buses going/ there go buses this road from Nowy Targ (38 km) and Jabłonka (12 km). When you come to the Ethnographic Park, the bus stop is located approx.100 m past the main gate of the museum, so you need to go back on a cobbled sidewalk and go across the road, but there is no pedestrian crossing there. When you leave the museum, the bus stop is located on the left, approx. 50 m walk from the gate, on the same side of the road, you can get there walking on the roadside.
Physical mobility - conditions of getting around the museum
There is a 50 m long paved path leading from the gate to the ticket office which is based in the historic Black Inn building (Polish: Czarna Karczma). To get there you walk up two steps, keep going straight ahead, pass a hall and enter the room where you can buy tickets, souvenirs and get all the necessary information. Here is also a meeting point with a guide. In the building located about 30 m behind the Black Inn, there is a toilet, you get there walking a rocky path, then going down five steps and through two doors of the width of less than 90 cm.
In the open-air museum there are mostly available paved paths which are crushed stone paths, ground paths, stone paths and also the grass.
The vast majority of historic cottages have entrances with the stairs with two/three steps, there are high doorsteps in the buildings, inside there are floors made of compacted clay soil (earth floor) and wooden floors, in most cases doors are more than 90 cm wide. In some buildings it is possible to use portable wheelchair ramps that are available on request in our museum.
In the open-air museum there is one toilet adopted for the disabled, it is situated in the part of the museum at the opposite side of the ticket office (approx. 350m), in the vicinity of a playground, a campfire site and buildings where educational workshops take place.
One-entry by car /bus is allowed in justified cases in order to facilitate access for people or groups with special needs who would like to participate e.g. in educational workshops, ceremonies, exhibitions, etc. However, getting around the museum by the means of transport mentioned above is not allowed. Entry permission must always be approved by the museum staff.
According to the operative regulations, it is permitted to take a guide dog to the open-air museum. A water bowl for the dog is provided at the ticket office, if necessary.
